Logically, you want to know everything about the cycling teams that you will find in the peloton. So, on this occasion, we offer you a focus on the Lotto Soudal team. Team presentation Lotto Soudal is considered the oldest cycling team in the world. Indeed, Lotto has been a main sponsor since 1985 before being joined by Soudal in 2015. Before being called Lotto Soudal, the team was called Lotto Belisol between 2012 and 2014. From 1985 to 2004, Lotto was the main sponsor of the team before partnering with Omega Pharma from 2005 to 2011. C ' It is following the split with Omega Pharma that Soudal joined Lotto in 2012 to form the Lotto Soudal team. Since 2019, the general manager of the team has been John Lelangue. The main victories of Lotto Soudal Since its inception, the team can boast of having passed the thousand mark, including 78 grand laps victories. Since 2012, the team has thus had 18 stage victories in the Tour de France, including 10 to be credited to André Greipel. To these victories, we must therefore add 20 victories acquired between 1985 and 2011, as well as two green jerseys for Robbie McEwen. Since 2012, the team have also had 11 Giro d'Italia victories. To these victories, we must add 17 victories acquired between 1985 and 2011. Since 2005, on the Tour of Spain, Lotto Soudal has also achieved 10 stage victories. Among the classic races, the team also counts the Strade Bianche (2018), the Flèche Wallone (2011), Liège Bastogne Liège (2011), the Amstel Gold Race (2010, 2011), the Tour de Lombardie ( 2009, 2010), Paris - Roubaix (2003), the Tour of Flanders (2000, 2003) and Milan - San Remo (1995). All that is missing is Milan-San-Remo, which he will try to win this year. He has also won the Amstel Gold Race four times and was crowned road world champion in 2012. On the big tours, he distinguished himself by winning 11 stages (1 on the Tour de France, 3 on the Tour of Italy and 7 in the Tour of Spain). JOHN DEGENKOLB The 32-year-old German sprinter John Degenkolb has also won 12 grand tour stages. He has also won several classics such as Paris-Roubaix (2015) and Milan - San Remo (2015).
